Women and Film History International is committed to the research, preservation, and exhibition of women’s global film history before synchronous sound.

One of WFHI’s most important activities is the organization of the Women and the Silent Screen conference, a biannual scholarly event that brings together historians, researchers, archivists, curators, and filmmakers from around the world.
