WFHI Steering Committee - Call for Candidates!

The WFHI Steering Committee invites self-nominations for up to three member-at-large positions. The terms will start in January 2026. They run for two years and are renewable. The WFHI SC meets online once a month and also conducts business via email in the interim.

We are particularly looking for individuals willing to serve as Treasurer-elect or willing to contribute to our website development and/or web management duties. Please note that anyone interested in serving as Treasurer-elect of WFHI must be based in the US since we are a US-based non-profit; the other two open member-at-large positions are not limited geographically.

WFHI is committed to building a diverse SC in terms of career level, areas of expertise, professional skills, geography, and other aspects of identity and experience, including race, gender, sexual preferences, color, ethnicity, class, and point of origin. We especially encourage nominations from individuals outside of Western Europe and North America.

You do not need to be a current WFHI member to submit a self-nomination, but are expected to become one should you be elected to the SC. You must be a member to vote in any election.

We invite self-nominations to be made via email to the current President, Kate Saccone (k.saccone@uva.nl), and Steering Committee Chair, Kristine Harris (harrisk@newpaltz.edu), by December 8, 2025. Please provide the following:

  • Short bio (100 words max)

  • Statement of interest in WFHI that briefly summarizes how you would contribute to the organization’s goals, our ongoing development of a diverse membership, and any of the areas of responsibility mentioned above (200 words max)
